What is Scoliosis and how can yoga help?
This is a brief video explaining what exactly is Scoliosis and how & why yoga is beneficial for someone with Scoliosis.
Throughout my years of dealing with scoliosis, I have never met a specialist with a better grasp of the condition than Hend. As a yoga instructor with immense knowledge, she understand scoliosis far better than most healthcare professionals.
Hendouse (Hend Wahsh) is a certified multi-style yoga Teacher by Yoga Alliance, specialized in Yoga for Scoliosis and Back Care based in Egypt. She’s also a graduating Yoga Therapist in training accredited by the International Association for Yoga Therapist (IAYT).
She has tapped into the world of yoga since 2012, and has been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring individuals.
Having the chance to share those lessons and experiences with her students fills her with joy.
Throughout her journey, she believes that yoga is not only a physical exercise. Yoga is more than postures and stretching; it has a deeper meaning and spiritual aspects that has an effect on the mind and soul as well as the physical body.
She’s a Scoliosis warrior, was diagnosed at the age of 11 so she understands the emotional and physical pain of living with Scoliosis. She found serenity & remedy in Yoga where it helped her to manage the pain and accepting the body as it is.
She has a wide experience working with Scoliosis and learned from different internationally known yoga teachers such as Elise Miller, Christine Jaureguiberry, Adelene Cheon and Mary Powell as well as Dr. Loren Fishman.
She received her 200hr yoga certification in August 2019 from Thailand; where she was trained on anatomy, yoga philosophy and art of teaching. She received her Yoga for Scoliosis certificate in June 2020 from England. Currently she’s enrolled in the Yoga Therapy Training accredited by the International Association for Yoga Therapist (IAYT).
